Earlier this week, our team took a break to celebrate a major milestone: processing more than 100,000 student expense orders during the 2025-26 school year.
Behind that number are thousands of New Hampshire students and families building educational experiences that fit their individual needs.
Those orders include tutoring sessions, curriculum, technology, tuition payments, educational supplies, and countless other resources that families have used to support their children’s learning.
What many people don’t see is the work that happens behind the scenes before an order is approved.
Each expense submitted through the Education Freedom Account program is individually reviewed by a member of our team. Orders are not automatically approved. Depending on the expense, a request may need to satisfy up to an 11-point review process before approval.
That review includes:
- Confirming the expense is educationally relevant and allowable under state law
- Verifying that providers meet program requirements
- Reviewing documentation for completeness and accuracy
- Screening for duplicate submissions and prohibited expenses
That process is repeated tens of thousands of times throughout the year.
Processing more than 100,000 orders represents a tremendous effort from our staff, who work every day to help families navigate the program while maintaining strong accountability standards. It also reflects the trust that New Hampshire families place in us as administrators of the EFA program.
We are grateful to our team for their diligence and dedication, and to the thousands of families who rely on these resources to support their children’s education.
The number itself is significant, but what it represents is even more important: students accessing the educational opportunities, services, and tools they need to thrive.
